                    1911 Wad Gun

One day I realized, I cannot shoot. At least accurately. So I tried my hand at Bulls-Eye. Not as easy as it looks! The masters may not be fast in IPSC standards, but they will poke an eye out at 50 yards, one handed. Well, maybe not that good, but you know what I mean.

My first love is a .45. This one will hold under 1.5" at 50, using a 200SWC and 4.8 of WW231. Need I mention the Ransom Rest? The Ruger Mark I has been re-barreled with a Douglas 6" CM barrel. It will hold under 7/8" @ 50 yards, using CCI SV .22LR.  The IZH-35 is an interesting item and has been reworked for the action. It has not been tested for accuracy, but does well at 25 yards using SV ammo.

In starting to shoot, I became involved in IPSC style shooting. For more information...USPSA The first guns I started to build were for competition. Pictures here show a .38 Super built on an original CMC frame(STI/SV). The slide has been lightened. The compensator is hand turned, 10 ports. Long before many other comps came on the market! It also sports a C-More optical sight. The frame has been rounded and stippled, with an aluminum mag well added.

The Limited gun is a .40 S&W, built on a SV frame and topped with a Caspian Slide. The frame has also been rounded and stippled, with a brass mag well added for weight. While not as "pretty" as some of the other guns you will see, beware of the worn gun and finish. These work great and have been shot, unlike others you will see at matches.

Ode' To John Browning....Ok, I will not forget the HiPower. Here is an Argentine FM HiPower under construction. Sights and thumb safety still have to be added, as well as the gun being refinished. But it shoots well and has been modified to be carried chamber empty. Browning Purists, please do not cry! Some people prefer to carry this gun in that manner. The hammer is bobbed to provide a cleaner carry profile, and not stick you in the ribs.
